Each one of us has a unique talent which we may or may not be aware of. Forced by our parents or the circumstances we get into a profession that is “in trend”. Little do we realize, that just like the fingers of our hand, each of us is different in our own way. Sometimes it takes a while to discover and understand that “special you”. Well again, its not at all necessary that you have only one talent in yourself. It could be two or more… you never know!!!
As a child, I used to be good in Mathematics and my parents thought I would continue the same as my profession just like my Dad. In high school i developed interest on programming and i was convinced till a couple of years back that software line is “the job” for me. But sometimes the circumstances and your fate decides to go against your wish. At least that’s what happened in my case. I got a role that i hated to the core and never enjoyed but thanks to the dedication i showed in the initial couple of years, i am still doing the same for the past 4.5 yrs. Alas!!! Now when i look back i see all those chances i left to make my job and my life better.
All the while, a subconscious part of me was learning other skills which i realized much later. As long as i stayed with my parents i was known to be a lazy girl who would never help Mum with her chores, let alone stepping into kitchen for cooking. But one fine day i realized the cooking skills i built up all the while when my sis (stays with me) went on praising the dishes i prepared for a week, that too every single day!!! My friends too gave honest positive reviews. To add to it, I realized that cooking made me feel happy and relaxed. I took it up as a new-grown passion and started trying various recipes and each of them turned so yummy that i could hardly imagine. (Could I have done a little better as a chef???)
I inferred that you just have to try your hands on different things and you would have lesser regrets in your life. I know its easier said than done but its never too late to try something new. Is it? The other thing i tried my hand on lately, is blogging (some of you may have guessed it already)
